Login/Cookie Problem

Some of my memers login in and once the click on a board they are immecietly logged out. I've reviewed this post:

Login/Cookie Problems FAQ  at http://www.yabbse.org/community/index.php?board=140;action=display;threadid=21872

"Php Version" I am using is 4.2.3

"No $cookiename" I'm looking into this now but I don't know what a "variable" is or what I may need to add if anything.

"Bad characters" I left the cookie as the default.

"High Security Levels" We did that with no success.

"Time Problems" tried that too with no success.

"Wrong Domain" tried that too with no success.

"Different YaBBSE Versions" I'm using the current version. 1.5.2

Any ideas? You can review the forum at http://www.mtnviewangels.com/yabbse/index.php

Thanks and sorry for being new to this stuff but we all had to start somewhere right? ;D

Ok i looked through my setting.php and found this $cookiename thingy ;)

$cookiename = "YaBBSE151";

In the forum configuration I have the cookie name set as:
YaBBSE151

Is this correct or does it need to be changed? If so, to what?

And you are sure their security settings are low or they added your site to the allowed list?

That's a good question, I have not asked him yet. I did however have him delete all of his cookies and re login with no success.

Hmm I would get him to do that again and then check to see if any new files are created in his cookie directory.

Ok I'll try that. Thank you. If it does leave the cookie, what else do you think may be the problem?

It would depend what is in the cookie. If it is being set then it could be something weird with the domain its using... hard to say.

I registered testwise in your forum and was able to login. Me too have MSIE 6.0.

You dont have some other program installed which is also setting cookies that might interfere with the forum cookies?

Not sure what you mean by some other program. Do you mean forum mods?

I see that some mods are installed. Mods might cause it.

But I was meaning some other program such as a portal (for example phpnuke) or something else.

Ok, I got the guy with the problem on the phone, for some reason, the cookie is not planting into his cookies folder. We set up his security level to low to allow all cookies. Yet, once he log's in, clicks on a board, he's immediatly logged off still and it's not enableing the cookies.

We've gone thru his web settings and I cannot find why it won't allow the cookie.

Any ideas?
