first mail them and then put them on a blacklist (no suport)(public blacklist ). And if that doesn't help jou kan take legal actions ( But do not think you would like to be in court all year round).

What are we talking about here .. if it is about some pics or little things IMHO I think 'Relax and let it be' is a good option .. cause you do not want to be obsessed with it and waste you time over them.
If we are talking about something like YaBBSE or any thing that you work hard on it, taking hard actions will do .. but it will not stop it especially in the internet.
I vote for the Email option

If you normally sell those graphics, then you have a better chance of succeeding at taking them to court. Generally, you have to prove one of two things: loss of reputation and/or loss of income.

If they're free for the asking, as long as the copyright notice remains, then it will be hard to actually win anything in court, and it'll cost you a bundle to do it.

Or... you could add a very small "©2003, andrea " bit of text in a corner of each graphic and make it impossible to steal them without giving you credit. Of course if the graphics are icons or smileys, that would be hard to do.

You could email them until you're blue in the face, but is it worth the frustration? Maybe if the graphics would normally have been sold, but otherwise... I don't think so.

In animation shop (jasc: paintshoppro) you can ad tekst to gifs (not in the image but a comment in the file self).
Maybe this kind of image branding shoot be added? (...argh more work  )

Thanks again. Indeed I started exactly to do this. I added already that block into the some of the files, gif animator is also able to add that. Besides more work it also makes the gifs a little bigger hence causing a little more traffic for the board.
