Strange
did you check the posts! They may contain some flashes that cause the problem..
Umm do you mean files that are attached to posts? I have that option enabled, but only these files are allowed: jpg,gif,dm_60 . So it is not possible to upload any virusses/trojans

Cant think of anything that would cause this, though I did once have a random avatar script that got broke when the host upgraded to php 4.3.1 and got stuck in a big loop just spewing out random crap to those that viewed it - only discovered the problem when I noticed that my avatar had used about 30gig of transfer in 2 days.
I suppose an issue like that could saturate a dial up users connection and result it slow pings.
Dont think theres anything YSE could do to cause such problems though.
2 members are saying that they are having troubles. they both have broadband (dsl/cable).
One thinks that his HD crashed because of this issue and the other one thinks that his ping raises up to +400 at game servers

Considering the name of your forum, maybe they just weren't sober
.
No... there's no way a forum or website could really take bandwidth and keep it unless you SPECIFICALLY put mailicious javascript code into your template.
It might just be IE. What happens if they go to google.com first, and then check their ping? Are they running any programs? Have they tried tools like Ad Aware? <www.lavasoftusa.com>
I still use the standard template, and I dont have any mods installed yet, I will give them the link to the Ad Aware site and let them scan their pc's.
Thanks again for the replies, if someone got other ideas, please drop them here.
I turned the maintenance mode off again so have a look.
I will post it here when the problem is solved including why they got a bad ping. (I dont notice any troubles with it by the way)
Cheers Erwin
