Is there a way to make YaBBSE completely private?

I need to make the whole board private and approve people only after they apply to become members.

Can this be done?  I know I can make the forums only accessible to certain member groups... but how can I lock out the general public.

Does anyone else have difficulty using search?  Even on my own board, if I do a search for a specific user, it always returns with nothing found.

What's the deal?

You have to tweak the options a bit... but I always get what I'm looking for....

Search for "application" only in the Completed Mods board for the last 400 days.

I don't have much luck with search either.  But if you are searching for all posts from a specific user, you can't leave the "search for" box blank.  Put a vowel in there to make it work.

Hi, I would like something similar. I have already changed the board so that people cannot register, but I want to a) keep people from logging in at all and thus b) forcing usering to log in using a separate security system I've developed.  I've had some problems adding my code to the template. I use sessions to register a variable that shows a users as logged in and check if that variable is set.  When I try to add this check to the template page, it doesn't see the variable, even though I can continue to use other pages in my "secure" area.

Does YaBB SE use sessions? Is there a mod for this? Should I hunt down the redirect function? (can you tell me which file it is in?)

Thanks in advanced!
