Two or three minutes on 56K dial-up, so perhaps the question could be a little more specific?

I suppose you are messing up download and install. Which is your host where the forum is to be installed? How long it takes to install depends if you are on a host which is well configured or not.

Please don't PM me asking me to download it for you.

The process is pretty simple if you have a host - if not, you'll need to get one.

Fozzie, check your PM.  I answered you there.

From what it sounds like, you need help installing it?

We need to know a few things, first...

1.  Who is your web host provider?
2.  Do they have PHP and MySQL capabilities?
3.  If you do have PHP and MySQL available, do you know all the necessary information (usernames, passwords, database name, database server, etc).
4.  Are you on a Windows or *nix server?
5.  Is Safe Mode on?
6.  Have you uploaded a simple file named phpinfo.php with <?php phpinfo(); ?> in it and run that file?

Once we get more information, we'll be able to direct you to where you need to go.  :)

[Unknown], MSN?

I cannot download anything on my PC as I am not allowed. The only question I can answer is 4. I have a WINDOWS XP.

Yes, I have MSN. What is your email on it?

Are you saying you will download me a forum? ???

I did already sometimes install board for people.

  • only paid hosts (which satisfy the PHP and MySQL requirements)
  • no adult content, nor violent nor vulgar content etc.
  • only for people who make the impression they will care for the board and keep it alive

So if I follow those rules you'll make me a forum?

But PAID HOSTS?? I have no money on hand.

Fozzie, it's generally a good idea not to PM a bunch of people, especially Moderators and Admins, asking for help.  You're only taking the chance of actually getting a few of us irked at you.

Having said that, you need to have a place to host your forums.  Most of us will not install them for you on any free hosts due to the potential problems involved and the fact that people that have boards on free hosts don't tend to take care of them.

Time to decide how you want to proceed.  :)

Try to learen a lil bit about the web & don't expect that you'll find someone to help you every time you got a problem.
Some time you'll have to face it by yourself, what if there is no one able to help you ?
