First off I am not very versed at all with these messageboards...a friend of mine set it up for me and I have been doing the admin of it since.  I really dont change alot on it but I can usually figure things out via the admin page.

I was curious about upgrading but was not sure on how to go about it at all.  I was looking for assistance with this. I know it should be done to get some better features but I dont want to lose the member lists I have now...nor do I want to lose any posts.

Could you all lead me in a direction to go with this.

Thank you

Ric

all you need to do is download 1.5.2 upgrade version,
upload all of the files in the package to the site according to their directories (overwriting the old ones)
then run the file upgrade.php in your forum directory using your browser

by using the upgrade, you will not lose any posts, members, IMs, and everything else
if you're stuck in some step in the upgrade, pls tell us (it could happen in some very large forum community using a slow server)

Back up your database before you start just in case something goes wrong - it should do but its better to be safe than sorry.

I just did the upgrade from 1.4.1 to 1.5.2 and only got one error message:

Can't DROP 'membername'. Check that column/key exists

Is this going to be a problem?

Thanks,
Mike
