Well, this would really be an awesome mod, i have multiple forums at my site, and i was wondering it a mod could be made to support this, say forum1 wants to share a cat that forum2 has, forum1 can add it to there cat index file, and it will show up, something like that.

it will be difficult if the members table isnt the same/joined
will require a lot of code editing, because each member's info (profile) will have to be taken from 2 separate tables
there's also the issue of forum stats, recent topics, etc

everything is the same there, except for 2 categories:
40k.ca has "The Armies of 40k"cat, and EldarOnline.com has "EldarOnline" cat, the rest are the same: members, stats, etc
its easier to do it that way than having different stats & members table

btw, eldaronline template still doesnt show well in mozilla :(
maybe i should put a complain post sometime... :P

Yeah, EldarOnline is very non-IE unfriendly.  Hopefully that will change soon.

EO and 40K had a lot of customizations done to them... the idea is that they both share whatever categories I want!  With a click of a button, a category can be in 1, the other, or both forums.

Members, stats, and who's online are shared.

What this does is make one giant community from one DB, hence people who register for one board, can use the other without creating a new account.  Also, things like rules and the like don't need to be created twice ...

It's all Compuart... he's king.

Hmmm.. sharing cats wouldn't be that hard to do. Just add another field to them then adjust the queries.

Of course, because then you'd get conflicts of usernames, and userids. It would have to be implemented from the start.
