A Few Small Problems/Questions
« on: March 19, 2003, 11:34:03 PM »

Hello, I am running YaBB SE 1.4.1 and have the following questions:

1. A forum member of mine says that when they click a link, every bit of text on the page turns huge. Any solutions to this?

2. Where can I find the "Re:" that appears in the subject area when you reply to a post? For example, if someone were replying to this thread it would look like this- Re:A Few Small Problems/Questions . I want to put a space between the "Re:" and the subject.

3. How do I get rid of the seconds througout the whole forum? I have changed the date settings in the prefs/settings but the seconds still appear on posts that say "Today at:"

Thanks!

Hi, thanks for replying. I have solved numbers 1 & 2. The answer to number 1 is change your text encoding to "Cyrillic" and number 2 was fixed by changing Post.php. I will have to hold off for number 3 because the new version is a little too "buggy" for me.

Actually.... imho, 1.5.1 is less buggy than 1.4.1.

I tried a fresh install of the 1.5, not this new beta version. You could not get the page to load initially, you had to refresh every time you went to index.php. There were a few other things I don't remember that were not that big of a deal. I don't use beta versions because I want to ensure they are right and I don't like updating all the time with the fixes. Final version is when I will upgrade. Don't get me wrong, I love YaBB SE.

that's a bug in 1.5.0
thats why we told u to upgrade to 1.5.1, it's MUCH less buggy than 1.5.0

my recommendation: upgrade to the current build, then wait till the final build to reupgrade
it's not hard to upgrade, and it's better than using 1.5.0 while waiting for the final release of 1.5.1 ;)

Hmm. I am still a bit hesitant to use a Beta version on my forums. Are there any known bugs on the Beta of 1.5.1 Beta right now and can you give me any idea of when the final version will be released? Thanks

I did a fresh install of this and am quite impressed. I like what you guys have done. The "Today time format" is still a problem though. I took seconds out of the forum prefs and settings, but it still shows seconds on "Today at:" ???

Where did you edit the time format for the today mod?

You have to edit it in Subs.php! Search for yse10 and yse10b!

I didn't know that I had to manually edit it. Thanks for the tip, works fine now.

Next, can you tell me where I can edit the YABBC tags? I want to change the URL one so that it is in the format that would post a link as text, not just the URL. Thanks

Sorry for all of this posting. I want to be sure everything will/would go smooth. If I were to upgrade from 1.4.1 to build 45, I just upload all of the new files? Or do I follow the upgrade readme instructions. Are any images different? I have a lot of custom images and don't want to override them with the defaults. Thanks

You don't have to upload the new images, but they were changed.

Upload all the files.  The readme will be updated on the next release.  (actually, it already has been...)
