After you save the dump as a .sql file on your hard drive. Open up phpmyadmin on your web site and click the sql tab(if it's a new enough version) and then there should be a file input, just select the .sql file from your hard drive, it will read it and insert the info into the db.

If there isn't an sql tab in your phpmyadmin on your web site just look for the input for a file on the database page of phpmyadmin.

Ok now it is just funny, LOL i saved it as a sql file then input into the field and clicked go on the phpmyadmin on the net, when i did I got an error:

Database ussalaska running on localhost
Error

SQL-query :

CREATE TABLE yabbse_banned (

 type tinytext NOT NULL,

 value tinytext NOT NULL

) TYPE=MyISAM

MySQL said:

Table 'yabbse_banned' already exists

I have horrible luck it seems :-D thank you

I would guess i need to drop the database on my server then upload the sql off my harddrive but want to be sure.

You need to delete all the table in the phpmyadmin that is on your website, then run the .sql file. :)

Guys,

This looks like a shed load of work - but well done all for getting there in the end!

I have the same problem as morr0lan in that the converter doesn't want to run on my server (see http://www.yabbse.org/community/index.php?board=132;action=display;threadid=19251) - I get open_basedir errors. I presume this is caused by some kind of restriction imposed by my hosting co. on an external scripts ability to read files in my cgi-bin area???

I am using latest v1.5.1 YabbSE and latest Beta converter but still get open_basdir errors.

I have written to my hosting company to ask them to relax whatever is causing this, but no answer from them as yet.

Is there absolutely no other way of converting??

Found a workaround which might prevent you from having to build a local server to complete the convertion. See

http://www.yabbse.org/community/index.php?board=132;action=display;threadid=20544&start=0

Cheers,
