I tried to convert a yabb sp1, to a yabbse 1.5.1. I was fine till i got to step 3, then i got the following errors. Did i mess up royally? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Oh yeah and if it matters i checked purge database, even though all that was in there was categorys and boards with nothing in them for yabbse yet.

You have security settings applied that make it very difficult to convert.

You might try doing the conversion on another server.

Is there any other way to convert, I would  even do it manually if i knew what I had to change over and such. THe reason is I have tons of posts and a decent number of members on my yabb sp1 board which is alos cgi. that I would hate to lose. Thank you

I tried comparing the files in my yabb sp1 cgi to my yabbse. I am unsure of which files i should use to add in my members if nothing else. if need be I would copy n paste the posts i currently have on my other board. I was going to try to the converter again but figured i'd mess up even more things. currently i am running yabbse 1.5.1. Any helping in converting at the very least the members from cgi to php would be greatly appreciated. Thank you ahead of time..

Doing it only manual would be a hell of a job. Every member in Y1G is stored in a few files, as is every topic. YaBB SE uses a database to store data. Without a converter you won't be able to convert (or you must have got a sea of time...). The only way would be to setup a local server, copy your Y1G files to that server, install a YaBB SE and do the conversion there. Then backup the database and restore it on your online server.

Thanx Comp, as you could by the errors above i didnt have many choices. Since doing it on a local server seems to be the only way could you possibly help walk me through it with instructions on what i should do. Please I dont know what else to do, Thank you very much in advance.

Getting open_basedir errors on Convert

I get the same errors when trying to convert from YG SP1 to YABB SE 1.5.0.

What are the security settings - and I will get the service provider to change them?

PLEASE HELP!

ps - I have seen people refer to YaBB SE 1.5.1 but can't find where to download it. Can only find 1.5.0..

This will not work with 1.5.0.

Use 1.5.1 instead.

Are you saying that this problem is overcome if I install 1.5.1? Is it not a problem with the converter??

I did try the new Beta converter, but still had the same problems.

OK,

I completely deleted the 1.5.0 installation and installed a new install of 1.5.1 (yabbse_1-5-1RC1B45.zip) which went fine.

I re-downloaded the BETA converter (Y1G_2_YaBB_SE_converter_(beta).zip) and ran this but still got errors as follows:
