I'm sorry if this is already discussed in some other thread, i just couldn't find it..

Is it possible to convert Y1G SP1.1 to YaBB SE 1.5.0 with the converter available for download at this time?

Cause i've tried it, and it says that everything went correct - no errors at all....
When i go the the converted YaBB SE, i can't do anything, and nothing changed exept for the Forum name and the news from the news fader...

I can't even log in with my admin account or register a new account...

Can anyone help me?

Is it possible to make some test posts on the new SE, then delete them and then use the converter to move all the old posts across?

yup, no problem. Select 'purge database' in the converter to make sure the messages don't get in the way of the conversion process (although I don't expect any problems when 'purge database' is not selected)

It empties all tables that later on will contain the converted data. Don't use it if you already have a board that carries data you would like to keep...

Its all getting clearer now.
I just have to decide which version of YabbSE to install, I want to be able to upgrade to the very latest version when it comes out, without too much messing about.
I imagine my board will be modded quite a bit before the new realease, as is my current board.
Is there a good version to go for?

Everthing went fine. except i had a lot of "members" who's birthdays are today (the day I converted)
How do I get round that?

Problem is, they never set a birthdate.
Didn't seem to worry the old version of member map on SP1.1?
