Tested.  It works to some extent; the only known bug is that it doesn't convert ubbc tags properly.

I'm considering methods of fixing this... but, it's difficult to do it without crawling through each message.

phpBB has this 'feature' specifically to make conversion annoying and difficult.

I've known.  The problem is, it uses a code hash for each message.

So, the message is like this:

[b:<code hash>]blah[/b:<code hash>].

So, here's my solution, which I'm still chewing on.

Step 1.  Add the hash to the messages table.  ie.
ALTER TABLE {$db_prefix}messages
ADD bbcode_uid varchar(10) NOT NULL default '';

Step 2.  Convert the messages table over.... only difference is now I would move the `bbcode_uid` over too.

Step 3.  Run something like this:
UPDATE {$db_prefix}messages
SET body=REPLACE(body, CONCAT(':', bbcode_uid), '')
WHERE bbcode_uid!='';

Step 4.  Drop the column...
ALTER TABLE {$db_prefix}messages
DROP bbcode_uid;

I'm not sure if that would work....

Whut about the IP addresses?  The IP addresses aren't converted correctly either.  I'm using phpBB 2.0.4 (if that helps).  It puts a hash, I think, instead of using the real IP address in the phpBB database, but it displays the real IP address when you view the posters IP address.

When the converter converts the IP addresses... it doesn't convert the hash into the REAL IP address.

it is when you have no clue how many functions mySQL has .  Did you ever get a book for MySQL specifically?  Or are you one of those hybrids that understamd manuals?

The only manual I have ever understood is the php one.. I tried the MySQL one but got lost lol.
