Go to your admin center and click the option to edt your categories. There is an input box for allowed member groups there.

Global Moderators can see all boards.  Hence, they are called Global.

That's stupid, as when you click the popup box to select the member groups available the "Global Moderator" membergroup is also there. There's no point in it being there, and therefore that's a little bug.
As far as I'm concerned Global Moderators should not be allowed see Admin only boards.

That's right. It would be useless to have "Admin-only" boards ::)...

Are you agreeing with me?!

What I'm saying is, you shouldn't be able to pick between the allowed member groups "admin" and "global mod" if they are the same (Which is how YaBB SE sees them)...

Yes/No. I think that Globals shouldn't have the possibility to access admin-only boards. These groups should be seperated, OF COURSE !! :o

I tried to make it so that Global Moderators would not see Admin only boards in 1.5.0 but the idea was vetoed because they are "Global".  There is a mod however that makes it work how it really should.

odd. What version are you using?

I'm using 1.4.1.

I think that if admin and global moderators are different groups, it should be necessary sometimes to make admin-only categories, for example: Talk about internal changes: options that only admins should know, testing new mods, etc.

I'm agree with Daniel D. and Big P, there is no reason to be able to select only admin group separately if actually this change makes no effect...  :-\

David..., you said there is a mod that makes it work. Can I use it in 1.4.1 version? Where I can find it?

Thanks folks...

Is really a completed mod?

Thanks in advance...

That is what I was refferring to.  It takes some common sense to apply it especially since some of the code may have changed in 1.5.x.

I hope, future 1.5.x versions will allow that.

Thanks David...

That is just plain silly.  Why the hell would anyone want Global Mods to see admin only forums?  Who vetoed it so we can paint nasty words on their car and throw donuts at them?

In all seriousness, there is absolutely no reason why Global Mods should be able to see Admin only boards.  If I wanted them to know what was going on in the admin circle, I would have made them an Admin.  What if two admins want to discuss an issue with a Global Mod?  Why should they have to resort to email or IM?

In my eyes this is not a minor flaw, this could be a MAJOR flaw, especially for new site owners coming from other software - which ALL have a way to exclude GMs from Admin only boards.
