[Done 1.5.1] Anti-spam: Email Spider Protection

This mod will replace the email address of board members by an image, so that
email spider bots won't be able to index the email addresses used at your
YaBB SE board. The replacement of the email address will only be done when the
address is viewed by guests.

In order to use this mod, unzip the files, copy email.php to your main YaBB SE directory. Modify
and upload the source files, using the mod file.

The GD library on PHP is required in order to use this mod!

Works great.. But I believe the Gif funtions are no longer in the new PHP-GD libs ? I've changed it to Png and it works like a charm

Ah, didn't know it was removed from GD. Guess it's the stupid copyright issue again...

Changing it to png is quite easy:

replace (email.php):

replace twice (email.php):

   imagepng($image);

I come from an egg : I uploaded email.php to the Sources directory.....stupid, it should have been uploaded to the main YaBBSE directory........

I attacked this from a slightly different angle with a different mod. Mine hides the email completely from "Guest" users and thus from the mail bots.

It also hides the buttons for posting and quoting if guests are not allowd to post. This cuts down the junk in your error logs and traffic wasted by bots.

I haven't tried this on 1.5.x yet, but it should be simple to integrate. As soon as 1.5 is in it's final form I'll port this mod.
