multiple themes

a member of mine asked about this and i thought i would give it as a idea. multiple themes for different ppl so they can have a different template for their own look.

After putting some thought into this, I don't think this should be too difficult a mod, all things considered. It would just require replacing code in a lot of different functions, and of course adding a template selector in the profile screen.

On the other hand, it should definitely be something admins can turn off. Not all admins WANT their board to look different for different people.

Anyway, you'd have to find someone who does mods just to do them. Its a "That's cool" type mod, not so much a practical mod.

like i said b4 a member of mine said he wanted it cause his board(XMB)has that feature and i think ur right that if it became a mod,it should have a option to disable if u get sick of it.

There is already such a mod but its only for 1.4.x

This mod easy lol, this mod is dam hard alot of modification to admin and user profile is needed new db columns need to be added a new table in the db needs to be added called skins or something to store all the skins, it doesn't seem hard but the way they made the template system it is, even a dam template preview is bloody hard

it is one on my mod list but ive got 3 including this one as I was allreasy going to develop this mod but all mods are on hold until i finish my other site sorry. Actually look for the original one in the completed mods section called multiple skins i think just search its made by Chris Cromer ask him to adapt it for 1.5.x

See, I would have volunteered to do it, except for the fact that I already pissed Chris Chromer off enough with my Global Moderator adaptaion to 1.5....

The name's Cromer... Chris Cromer. Well it isn't a James Bond but still.

I plan to update my mods after 1.5.1 is released... no point updating it now, then having to update it yet again after it is released. Besides I couldn't do it for 1.5.0 if I wanted to... I can't get it to work on my server on my pc. Hopefully I will be able to get 1.5.1 to work.

Oh and it wasn't really you who pissed me off, it had been a very horrible 2 weeks for me... first agigames.com went down and I lost everything because I didn't have a backup... and lost some of my mods... then about a week after that my pc's windows broke... so I had no access to internet for a week or any windows programs at all... so I lost alot of stuff on my old pc... then when I finally got back to yabbse.org I had been demoted back to mod team(I was on the dev team before my pc crashed) I still don't know what happened and why I was demoted... anyway don't take it personally, it was just a bad 2 weeks.

Sorry, I make typos all the time. (just look at any of my posts...)  I did know it was Cromer, it's just that my last name starts with "Ch" so I always type that way... .

And, I'm sorry to hear about your misfourtune.  It's more thn enough of a reason to be a little mad.

Incidentally, when I said this was a relatively easy mod, I meant that it was not a hard-to-figure-out mod but that it would be very time consuming to do. Sorry if I didn't clarify that enough.

But if someone has already made a mod for 1.4.1 someone just needs to update that. Preferably whoever designed it to begin with, or whoever is given permission by the original developer..

Chris Cromer has made it for 1.4.1 and will update it to 1.5.1 wen officaially out of beta
