Current YabbSE 1.5 Toolbar takes too much bandwidth !!

Hi,

The current YABBC tags toolbar takes more bandwidth resource than his predecessor.

Just for example:

old version


contains of 28 buttons, each about 168 Bytes
= ~ 4,7KB traffic for the toolbar

New 1.5 version:



27 buttons: each image about 1000Bytes + the animated marquee GIF with 27KB
= ~ 54KB traffic just for the toolbar


Means the new toolbarset takes 10times more traffic than the old one. For some boards this means a traffic increase, which have to been paid by the webmaster. Any chance to optimize the new toolbarset in size for future YabbSE distributions? Or use other buttons like phpBB which doesn't contain graphics?

Alternatively if you get into bandwidth problems you could install one of Ramon Kaes' button sets which you can find here:

they will be cached by most people browsers so they should really affect it too much

I like the new 3D style so I optimized the buttons. There are smaller than 10k now without any loss (except for the marquee button which isn't animated anymore). If you wanna keep the animation then simply don't overwite the file move.gif.

Btw: Buttons created with the button generator can also be reduced to approx. 1/3 of size without any loss.
