I was wondering why expiretime was stored as a separate cookie? Couldn't the expiry time of the cookie be stored in the two other cookies? Or better yet why not serialize the username/password and get it down to just one cookie?

I was wondering the same thing.... maybe they don't want to kill compatibility with integration (like mine) that doesn't use ssi.php.

Ya my guess was that since it was originally used in the Perl version they just kept it.
