This forum will not be upgraded to SE 1.5.0

Joseph and team has edited and added most of the features (and then some) used in 1.5.0 in this forum.

At some point in time I'll convert over all the special mods that were made here to a 1.5 install and do the upgrade, just for consistency's sake.

Hi Joseph and Happy Holidays,

Will you put the converted mods in a seperate 1.5.0 category at that time?

Thanks

Okay, please don't take offence to this, but wasn't 1.5 released a bit prematurely? I mean the bug reports have been furiously quick, and the amount of them is quite tremendoous :-/. I realize you all worked extremely hard to get this out for Christmas day, but maybe you should of tried for new year instead? :).

I think for the most part version 1.5 is great. Yes there are some bugs but that's going ot happen with any release. Alot of them already have posted fixes and are easy to implement as well.

I'm sure a 1.50 RC2 will be out soon though  ;)

Hi Omario,

I was / am waiting a while to offically upgrade Drumsmith.com.  The main reason I downloaded it and installed it on my workstation was a preview.  The main point of my message in the first post was I really liked what I saw so far.

Like anything else, I know there are going to be bugs for a bit.  One of them is the SMTP mod.   ;D

Happy Holidays btw.

Well... there are more bugs that have been fixed than that have been created. Beta testing can only go so far. Hope you are still having fun with it though, it is a lot better than 1.4.1 ;D

My view is that after the closed beta there should be an open beta before realease, that way a lot of the bugs would have been picked up before the final release.

Not sure how many beta testers there are but if its the number that is contained in the admin area, then how many actually tested it on a large board?

Appreciate that installing a beta as a live board can be a nightmare (I almost got kicked off my old host for bringing a server with 400+ days uptime to it's knees when I was beta testing yabb 1 sp1), but it helped iron out little niggles here and there.

Thats my take on things.

Yep, that's definitely a thing we've learned from this experience. Next time (2.0?? ;D) there will be public beta's before 'official release'

I have to note that there has never been an upgrade like this. Every line of code was changed. Most upgrades before only aimed at fixing things (which should only reduce the number of bugs), and adding a few mods that were already publicly tested.

There were a few live tests on large boards.
