Announcement board enhancements??

on YAbb sp gold there was a mod that allowed you to include announcement boards, I know that there are announcement boards in yabbse but they are different, on yabbsp we were able to set posting permissions in the announcment boards.
Now I would like to use my announcement board as a place where mods and admins can post topics and members can reply, but memebers can not start topics

can anyone help me.  Or is there a mod that just simply allows posting permissions

Check for my reporter hack in the completed mod board or click on link in my signature.

You can modify that slightly to do what you need.

I am currently using SE and tried using boardmod to change the settings, but it would not work, so tried to do it manually and the lines of text in my files seem to be different to the ones on yours, though I have not added any different mods on.... hmmm guess I will have to look into it with more details

which YSE version are u using?
is it compatible with that mod version?

I am using Yabbse 1.4.1 and it should be compatible

my server is down now, so I can not make for 100% that it is 1.4.1 but I am pretty sure that it is

Any idea how to do that for YaBB SE 1.51RC1B44? I would love to have a board where only I could post announcements, while allowing everyone else to view them.

You've already got that facility:

Just make the relevant board an announcement board through the checkbox in 'Edit Boards (reorder/create/remove)' and lock the posts after you've posted if you don't want folk to reply to them. Assuming you're the only admin, that's all you need if it's only you who's to be allowed to post!

Yeah, I know about that, but the thing is, I want to set it up so that only I can post new topics in that section, while still allowing everyone else to read them. I know it can be done (they did it on this board), but I don't know how.

only admins and global mods can post in announcement boards

I've got it set that way... I just figured that since users could reply to announcements, they could also start new topics in that section. Thanks for the help.
