[Done 1.5.1] Custom Templates 1.0.0

This is the result of a good afternoon's hacking - and my first exposure to YaBB SE.

This mod allows administrators to choose between different templates for each board.

I believe that someone else was working on this, but could not find any code.

The mod is in YaBBPak format and works against a fresh install of YaBB SE 1.5.4 (I haven't tried it alongside any other mods yet).

You can get it from http://www.jack.org.uk/yabbse-packages/. I have set up a package server there.

This release (apart from version numbers) is identical to the 0.9.8 release, and the release in Supermod.

ChangeLog:
1.0.0 : Final Release :) .. Identical to 0.9.8 apart from the version numbers.
0.9.8 : Fixed another problem with PHP magic quotes (you can now have magic_quotes_runtime turned on)
0.9.7 : Fixed a bug where you couldn't have PHP in a template.
0.9.6 : Added the slightly useful delete function .. tested against B44
0.9.5 : Fixed a dumb typo. If you have installed 0.9.4, please install the upgrade package
0.9.4 : Ported to 1.5.1 RC1 B43 - version 0.9.3 considered stable to 1.4.1
0.9.3 : Added code to handle servers where magic_quotes_gpc is false.
0.9.2 : Fixed problem related to PHP magic quotes.
You can now have a template with single (') quotes without it screwing up.
0.9.1 : Initial Beta Release

NOTE : This is an original work. The HTML layout in CustomTemplates.php has been derived from a similar page in Admin.php. Aside from that, all code in this package was designed and implemented by myself. If you have any queries or concerns about this, please do me the courtesy of contacting me.

It might just be me, but I think that you uploaded the file in the wrong type of format. I think zip files are supposed to be binary, but don't quote me on that. I have to use my 'auto-ascii' mode on my ftp program ;)

Reason I could tell, is that it's spaced all weird. Black boxes instead of carriage returns in the .mod file. Might wanna re-upload it in the other mode than what you used, and see if that'll make it.

Of course, this could all be my computer ;) it HAS been acting weird today..

Oh, I use Unix on my desktop - that must be notepad or something not handling Unix text format right.

Does the Windows version of BoardMod have a problem with it do you know?

If the zip file had gone through 'ascii to binary' conversion, you wouldn't be able to unpack it.

I've just converted the Readme file and mod file to DOS style text and re-uploaded the zipfile.

That should help you out :)

Correct me if I am mistaken, but all this seems to do is change the background color of the different boards.  In my hunble opinion, this is nothing near a custom template.  I suggest that you look at the Skins Mod if you want to see what custom templates are all about.

cheers...........

Nope, it is a full template for each board. As I noted, the 'demo' is purely my development board - there's no need for me to do anything more complex to show it working, just enough to differentiate between the different templates.

New version! :)

I have fixed a number of problems relating to single quotes and such-like that would cause templates to silently fail to save.

Download details have changed as I am now using YaBBPak.

Changelog is at the start of the thread.

Server is at http://www.jack.org.uk/yabbse-packages/

Ach!

Sorry .. that was a dumb typo - guess that's why it's still in beta (hey, if his billness can get away with that, why can't I? ;) )

I have now uploaded an upgrade mod from 094 to 095. DOes anyone else think it's a bit overkill just for one character? lol

Sorry again.

Thanks by the way, egg .. feel free to break anything else you notice ;)
