Why isn't anyone using the YaBBpak to create any mods anymore.  All I see is reference to MOD files which don't work in the YaBBpak Center.

Wait for YSE2.  I don't think we are doing much to it in 1.5 although I may be wrong.

1.5 does have some packman fixes, but only a few people write mods for it.

But from what I see, the BoardMod program only supports the Perl format.  It doesn't list a PHP file type as a file that it supports.

Perhaps only a few people write mods for it because everyone claims it is a piece of crape which it isn't.  It has its problems but from what I hear so does BoardMod.  But I still feel that most of the problems with both are due to poorly written mods and/or mods not being compatable with each other.  But every time PacMan is brought up, it is just dismissed as crape that noone should use.  Every mod I have written and every mod I have installed was done so through PacMan.  It works fine if you know what you are doing.  My PacMan fixes mod made it so it will even understand a BoardMod tagged file.  I've never downloaded BoardMod... I convert the mods to PacMan mods and use those.  Works fine for me.  But to each his own.  I'll continue to serve YabbPaks.

Well when Boardmod SE site gets on it way, I'll see if we can get a pacman team to modify boardmod files to packman also and vice versa. << >>< < >>

Hey Jack... You gonna fix that Country Flags thing so it works with 1.51RC1B44? I tried installing it and got a couple of errors in profile.php...

Parse error: unexpected T_STRING, expecting ',' or ';' in .../profile.php in line 225

Fatal Error: call to undefined function modifyprofile() in .../profile.php in line 1336

Sorry to jump in, but from my (a forum admin point of view (albeit a php newbie) on 56k), YaBBPaks are by far and away a much easier way to install mods than boardmod is.

I hate the way with boardmod you either have to download the whole board, make the changes and reupload it, or search through the mod file to find which changes need to be made and download the files individually.

It just seems like there's so much less hassle in using a YaBBpak from a package server instead of boardmod!

I think that both me and Jack.R.Abbit can WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree.

You will never see me write a mod and not release a YaBBpak.... man, I even released the bugfix as a YaBBpak ;D.

I'm with that one [Unknown]... but how ironic that the "Remove PackMan" mod comes in a YabbPak.  :D

That being the case, why aren't more mod developers using the YaBBpak center?  If ease of use and functionality are the primary goals of the Yabb forum software, surely a bigger push could be made to make more developers use it?

Ah well, horses for courses as they say.  It just seems a shame that some of the best mods on here (More Smileys, Who's online etc.) only come in a boardmod package.

This maybe a far and away out of the question proposal, but for YSE2, would it be possible for the Pacman to be able to read boardmod files and implement them?
