I have a YaPP enabled site at
htp://www.mnfcpug.orgI would like to add a cool feature to the site where users can upload their own QuickTime movies. Kinda like the ability to upload a JPEG or whatnot (not just a reference to an external link, I would actually like it to upload to the server). That's step #1, and I can already do that by adding the '.mov' extention to the upload script. Cool.
Step #2 is to have that video play back in an iFrame on the site. Basically when a user uploads a file it gets dumped to a directory. From there it will call up a graphic that will link to another PHP page that has the EMBED connands in it. The reason I am doing it this way is that it allows users to place the video inside of an iFrame and change the embed attributes if they would like. So for our site it would pop up in the Final Cut 'viewer' window as a video. I have the QuickTime embed commands if that helps, basically I just need a page that knows how to call up the URL from the database. I can take care of the rest of the code.
So in short, would someone be willing to create a way to upload a QuickTime video or modify the current upload script so that it knows when it's a QuickTime file and display a graphic link to a PHP page that would contain the link to the video?
Questions? Feel free to write. I am more than happy to give the user credit for all their work on our site. I *think* that this would be a fairly useful mod, no?
