can someone please tell how to lower the size of
the font letter for the category title and all the
other enlarged letters such as users online, private message etc etc.

open up boardindex.php, messageindex.php and display.php

Change any font size="2" to font size="1" or remove size="2" and set the font sizes in your css files.
