Anyone interested in this (display mod)

I did it on my board and like it. It makes sticky threads into 'announcements', makes them smaller and takes out the last post by.  If there is enough interest I'll make it into a mod.

I'm not sure, but here's how to get threads to show in every board:

Go to phpMyAdmin, find the topic in {$db_prefix}topics and set its ID_BOARD or BOARD, whatever it is to 0.

Then you need to edit some queries in MessageIndex and Display, where it says something like "board=$currentboard" you need to change to:

"board=$currentboard || board=0"

Then it will display in all boards. Done that on my own board.

If you mean can you make one announcement and have it show in every board - no. I've never wanted to ;D but as Mach8 pointed out, it wouldn't be hard.

Thank you for all your interest. :) I'll make it into a mod, but it may be a week or two. >:(  ftp on my current host is all screwed up. I am in the process of getting a new webhost. :)

I'll be releasing the 'Global announcements' mod soon and will ensure it's compatible with Dude's mod when he releases it.
