Quote from: Jack.R.Abbit on November 01, 2002, 12:41:47 AMOK... so I tried to get Gallery working and I think it is futile...  However, I was able to get 4Images Gallery installed and that seemed to go alright.  It appears to be functioning.  However, I still cannot use the thumbnailer to work.  4Images Gallery can use NetPBM but I get an error when trying to call it.  My first thought is that the binaries I uploaded are not proper for my server.  I tried to grab some other binaries to try but nothing seemed to work.  I guess I will be looking even harder at moving hosts now.  Any more ideas about this?

Thanks for your help magical_yak!

-Jack

For netpbm, I jsut uploaded the files and CHMODed them and it worked.  There is a bit of talk on the gallery website about PHP running in safe mode, I think it says you need to almost run a secondary PHP through CGI (it confused me to say the least).  Sorry it didn't work, maybe check the FAQs on the gallery webpage for that info.  If I can be of any more help, let me know.

Yeah!

That mod seems to rock!

I have gallery running without any problem, but, having a gallery fully integrated with YSE would be great!

Space>
btw.
How hard have been to mod the script?
I mean, in case the photogallery guys release new verisons...

great job!

ja ne!

i changed quite a lot in the main db system like using members table from YSE, changed date() function into time() so i can use timeformat() in YSE, also added lots in the admin menu ala YSE (edit css and gallery preferences)
i didnt touch any graphics part like storing image, resizing, etc
im almost done with it, just need to edit the installer, and maybe making upgrade script for those who use coppermine already

that may depends on the changes...
i upgraded from RC 1 to RC 2 easily
but RC2 to RC3 was harder, lots of code changes :P
i had to compare the changes and applied them myself
i probably will update the mod too when a new coppermine version is released

hehe that you lot JUST checking out 4images ? tsk...

remember gif support has been dropped in PHP for some graphics convertors.

would be nice to get it fully converted, then I wouldnt have the hassle of having 2dbs lol

i forgot to say in this page that the Beta version of the mod is done, it's pretty stable already: http://www.yabb.info/community/index.php?board=158;action=display;threadid=14810
if u want gif support, u can install imagemagick

when i was looking for a photo gallery script, i looked for a simple one, so it will be easier to integrate to YSE
i saw that site already (4images), also saw 'gallery'
they're both quite advanced, and would be harder to integrate
i chose coppermine because its simple ;)

shame really ;)

ahh well the script 4images supports backing up of the full dbase (not just the gallery) gazillions of stats, comments, tweaks

autothumbnailing, auto image resizing, mutliple categories, image validation, light box, ratings and much more

its been converted for nearly every other board so why not yabbse ???.... it almost makes me want to convert to bb :P lol

I've included a piccie of the cp for everyone... but you've made your decision ;)
even if just the duplicate data could be merged then I personaly believe it would be reasonably easy to run them along side.
