Read-Receipt?

Something that everyone has been asking me when I show them the board as a replacement for out creaking Intranet mail system is 'how do I know if they've read it'?  The comment is general for the whole board system, i.e. how can you tell if a particular member has read a specific thread.  I would have thought that making read receipts possible for the board in general would be a massive systems overhead.  A read-receipt system for the Instant Messaging functions would be jolly useful though.

There is an excellent IM Staus mod in the German User Help section (in Hilfe bzw. Diskussionen zu Mods), which displays "not read" "read" and "deleted" status icons in your outbox.

I've found several great mods there which haven't found their way over to the English side.

Idealy that mod will work fine on the english version.  If it creates language variables you will have to change them to english and have it modify english.lng instead of the german file though.

It edits both german.lng and english.lng. Since I don't have german.lng in my board, I deleted the single reference to german.lng and Boardmod handled it with no trouble.

We're trying to translate the best mods into german with keeping the changes to english.lng ! That means you can use all (!) german mods with your english version, too !

I kept the original titles of the mods so it's not that hard to find out the function. Have fun !

Tested the mod on my test site and I've just put it live.  Superb, excelent and exactly what was needed.  Excellent mod!
