I remember seeing this mod on the old version of Yabb (SP1.1 Gold)
Is there something similiar available for YabbSE (Which I love btw :P)

Well I did make a user selectable css mod which is pretty close to doing that, it only changes the color but not the template it self.

if anyone is willing to separate icons and such from template images - I will attempt to make a mod
