YaBB SE ROCKS!!!

YaBB has to be the best forum I have ever used. And I should know, I've used it all from PHPBB to Invasion Board and I've never been as impresed as I am with YaBB SE. I used to use YaBB Gold and now that I found this, it's that much better! I will always use YaBB SE and nothing else!

Well there are many featurs like the fact you can change your display name... or that the avitars are not all sized the same causing distorted or pixlated pictures. The other ones caused confusion for some of my users, But YaBB does not. The other ones were nowhere near as easy to configure as YaBB. The fact that you can chage the template as a whole is great in YaBB, others do not offer that... you had to leave it the same or dig through tons of code to change it. I mean the list goes on... in my opinion YaBB is the best you can get. Almost everything is configurable and that's great!

hmmm, I guess we'll have to rethink our YaBB SE 2 template strategy...

Yeah, this is one of the things I thought about when comparing YaBB to other boards and contributing in Y2 development discussion - on the one hand, the ability to customize the details of every page is really handy for some, for others it's a complete pain in the rear, because they want to be able to quickly change part of their entire forum's look without having to edit many files.

I think two possible solutions are to:
1) Give a choice between simple template (one file) and complex template (multiple files) mode.
or
2) Have the default template include a header and footer file on every page, which would allow for greater customization but still alow quick changes (the current single-file template allows you to customize everything around <yabb main>, which essentially means a header and a footer).
