I have Yabbse 1.41 and I was curious to what the diffrence between it and gold was???

YaBB Gold is written in Perl and uses text files to store information, while YaBB SE is written in a different programming language (PHP) and uses a MySQL database to store information, which makes it faster and more efficient.

The language it's written in is PHP :) There is this very question I believe in the FAQ boards.
