Well without this mod, YaBBSE doesn't have real SMTP support(even though they left the option in it). So basically this will help people out who don't have sendmail, and don't have smtp properly set up in php.ini.

Unfortunately I removed it after numerous people
stated some smtp () error when they would try to post.

Mind you thier post would appear but still they recieved this error.

Alright I found fixed one of the problems in the SMTP mod that kept if from working when using the forgot password link... I will try to get the other 2 parts that don't work right fixed.

Well.. I jsut did the mod by hand.. and now when I go to send an email to members, it gives this error...

2: Unknown error
(c:\xxxxx\www\xxxxxx\forum\Sources\Subs.php ln 325)

this is the error message I get when I go to send??

any idea's

Hmmmm, well I really don't have a clue if it is an "unknown" error... it has worked for other people... but I will take a look and see if I can find anything else that could be causing this.

Im wondering if my config is wrong, as in the path to the server, I would say if its workin for others then it has to me, thats not a surprise.. lol,  in the smtp server area.. what inforamtion do you put there,, "mail.yourmail.com" as it is in your outlook??? I would think so, or is there a different entry here to get to it??? and also.. in the prefferences and settings admin, for the location of sendmail, and smtp server, do they still hav eto be fill'd in???

I might have to go back on what I said before. I think using sendmail rather than a socketed connection to the smtp server is faster.

sendmail uses a compiled socket rather than an interpreted socket. Sendmail is a program rather than a script.

your ptobly right ground up.. but sendmail is unix.. or linux, and dont help up peeps that our stuck in the land of windows.. lol... and suggestions on the setting up of the stmp with this mod..??

Well I really don't know much about setting one up, I did all my testing and stuff on my smtp server at agigames.com(remotely hosted)...
