This mod enables SMTP support for YaBBSE which will allow you to use your SMTP server as well as remote SMTP servers.

Well I made this mod for YaBBSE 1.4.1 but it *should* work with YaPP 0.6. I can't give you any promises that it will though because I don't know if Eric altered anything in the sendmail functions or not, or if the setting will work correcty in the admin center.

If the mod doesn't work on 0.6 however, you can go over there and see if someone is willing to port this mod to YaPP.

now you are gonna think i am a pain by now but

i get this error

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: fsockopen() in /users/coolfreepage.com/granturismo/yabbse/ Sources/Subs.php on line 1222

i know that my mail server uses port 20025 instead of 25.

Do i just change the 25 to 20025? or is there something else?

Well.. this mod should be a standard feature in all yse's.  I was just about to make it too.  It will increase the speed of your mailings and allow you to send much larger mailings to your members and to more members.

If you don't have sockets installed or a smtp connection, don't use it ;)

4... that isn't helpfull, I need an exact version number.

Also I don't beleive you need to change the port, it should already work.

Do you have a phpinfo.php file up? If not put one up so I can see what php version you are using.

Ok, Now u r gonna really hate me. I checked the forum over there and the admis answered another post like mine. All sockets have been disabled.

Thanks For your help anyway. I am gonna have a go at trying to access another file on a different server to send the e-mail coz that server supports sendmail but not php

Sorry about that, couldn't predict that your host would have disabled that.

But if anybody still wants this mod, it is quite usefull and lets you use SMTP mail servers. Plus from what groundup says it is faster to use sockets.
