Depending on how much HTML is enabled, it could be a security risk, that's even though many have asked for a mod like this, no one has made one.

It is possible, but the mod creator would have to produce a list of tags that could cause vulnerabilities, and basically remove them from any messages. <iframe> is a good example.

However despite all this work, there may still be some undetected vulnerabilities that would not exist with BBCode.

even an image tag can be used to screw your board table size if not handled properly
example: <img width="1000" height="1000"

OK!!! I think I (as well as many others) have stated the risks involved with html.... But THis mod has been requested on many occasions and I think that if someone wants it they should be able to have it..... It is their decision.....Just because someone doesn't like it that doesn't mean another should not have the right to have it..... So have your oppinion but don't put down others because they have a different oppinion.......

A lot of people who use message boards don't have any knowledge (or a limited knowledge) of HTML, so UBBC is a saviour, since it greatly simplifies things like links, image insertion, etc. Isn't this why it was made, in addition to the security benefits from using it?

Are you willing to tell us how you did it?  The Admin/Mod only thing sounds really good.
