News: SMF is the next generation in forum software, almost completely re-written from the ground up, make sure you don't fall for cheap imitations that suffer from feature bloat!

maybe you can integrate subcats? :D
i just needed 1 hour to integrate them into my yabb se (i was just bored because my connection dont functioned ;D), but as my internet connection functioned, i continued working on my own board software ;)
its not hard to integrate them, just a little modify in the mysql database, the tree navi has to be updated and then sub categories in unlimited levels depth are possible.

just an idea for the next version. ah, btw: i modified a yabb se 1.3.1, but not the admin center, so that you have to change the subcats manually. also its crap that you have got all categorys and forums of another category shown, so that the browser just navigates to #1 as a sample. thats crap. so if you really plan to integrate them, use unlimited levels. i think you know how to do that, but you have to write a showforum.php as a sample, so that the sub cats and forums of the cat are listed there.

another idea for the category/forum system, just an idea: combine the category and the forum table to one, so that there are just two more cols "iscat" and "iswriteable". thats a lot more easier and you dont have to jump cross over the tables, what can be a lot slower and is a lot less effective.

mmmh... ok, guess im just thinking to much, but yabb se is good, and that are just a few ideas and changes. i dont guess that yabb se becomes better than my software if its more far in developement without a complete rewrite of yabbse or youve got to put a lot more time in it. but its a useful fast software, keep on working guys you did a great job.

Actually we already have something like that - I just turned them off as people said they were annoying ;) Thanks though :)

think thats not as annoying as the mod function as a sample ;D

i think that function would make the yabbse for some users much better ;)
