I've been using it for a little while and I think its the best  free php/mysql gallery management system out there...

I'd suggest it to any artist out there looking for a gallery ;)

mine is here for anyone interested...
http://www.3dhomeworld.com/4images/

only problem is .... people need to sign up twice on my site to use both my forum and the gallery...

I've noticed threads on 4homepages.de forum about converting the database over to be compatable with both vbulletin and phpbb and I was wondering how hard do you think it would be to do the same for yabbse?

check it out ;)

It does look like a good script.  Not sure what would be involved in making it part of yabbse though.

;) I'm all over this. The only thing is that I have no idea how to do it. I've been on the fence about Gallery and 4Images for some time now. There is a big performance hit when Gallery get's a large amount of images and it doesn't allow user registration...so on.. that's why I went with 4images. I've posted on the 4Images forum a few times about 'integrating' the two packages together.

Basically as I can see it... it's just the username and password stuff that needs to be shared. I would even be happy hacking up the code in either one to use the whichever database for the username and password. I know that there is some cookie stuff too. Pffft..no idea..

I wonder if there would be some way to start some fund to help assist with putting this 'feature' to the top of the list for the 4images people.

Here's the packages i'm talking about.

Hey sickle,

just a wee note....

4images is being rewritten... 2.0 should be able to intergrate better with message boards than previous ones... you are right tho it does only really need username etc intergrated... I tried once but nearly messed everything up... so I'm just going to wait :)

I'll keep at them about it tho :)

cheers,
Ian.

I wonder if there will be any 'script' to make the transition easy..I guess both parties would have to get together to make all the love work.

I poked and prodded Jan.... and he was going to consider writting a quick install script for it but he decided better to wait for 2.0 since it has to be rewritten. 2.0 should upgrade with scripts like the older ones did... so watch this space ;)

Did I accidently mention multiple image size downloads (without the mod) and a whole load of new features too?

no... good, I get to keep my balls :)
