the yse130.ya is

1) an old version
2) won't work at dzones.com - you need the safe version.

Download this one instead. You'll need to upload the whole set of files.

Check in your FTP program and make sure you upload them in "binary" mode (the images get uploaded in ASCII mode) - usually you can just add the *.php extension in setup somewhere to tell it that the filetype needs Binary transfers.

Also, go into CPanel and then in MySQL Database and create a database called "yabbse" then create a username and password for it.

Then, when you run install.php tell it "localhost" as server, and the username/password you just set up from the CPanel for the database, and it should do the rest (if you chmod'd the files correctly).

Good luck! Mad Moya

Ohhhhh myyyy goooodddd me sooo dum ::) ::) ::) I can't belive i forgot to do that geeeeesh, username_yabbse MySQL name geee me so stupidoo.

Ahhh well now that all that is done, me happy!!! Just waiting to find out when the internet will reconize that my site is supoz to be pointed to the new ip address. I was told to wait another 48 hours me not happy.... >:( >:( I want to test out my new site  >:( ahh well.

Curiousity;; how long did it take you to get your site pointed to the new IP address?? Mine seems to be taking forever and the mail pop address will not connect, yet I am told it is all related to the two IP address not all being changed over.

And should I tell my current hosting company to bugger off, or wait. If I tell them to jump in a lake since I have switched to Dzones.com does that mean that since I have to wait 30 days before my old ISP will cancel my acc that my old acc will override my new one with Dzones.com??? Or will it jsut go where it is supoz to..

Oh and what should I chmod my yabbse acount to?? after install?? It says to change it but to what I brough it down to 555 or sumpn.. what do you recomend??

Thanks again!!

You're using the same domain name, right? So once it's pointed at the dzones IP address, it won't work on your old site anymore.

I think it took me a day or so, but I started with a new domain name, they didn't have to switch anything over.

The readme file that came inside the zip says which files are chmod'd to what... a few need read/write access for everyone... offhand, I don't remember which ones tho (template.php and settings.php are two I can think of).
