Adding non-posting-linked events in calendar ?

I would like to have a feature that enables adding events in the calendar, but does NOt require to post an accompanying message in the boards.

Theoretically I could do this bij adding events in the database as if they were holidays (in the holidays table), but I'd rather have an option added to add events ONLY in the calendar, not as topics in in the boards.

Does anyone know how to do that?

You can do this by running a mysqwl query but there should be a way to do it from the board.
