technically, this wouldn't be hard to allow a user to add as many membergroups as they want.. I'm not going to; but you should have a go. It wouldn't have to be as complex as the perl mod, add more membergroups but it would get the job done!  ;)

The boardmod stuff is really easy to do.

Open up the boardmod (.mod) file in a text editor. Then, wherever it says <Search For>, that means you search for the text in the file. <Replace With> or <Add Before> or which not, means that you do that action, to the text in the <search for> block.

It couldn't get much easier even if they write an installation guide ;D

I dunno if it works for 1.4.1. I used it a while ago, and I never was able to get the membergroups to save correctly, so I removed this mod, sinec it set all of my membergroups to the highest group, and everybody had 8 stars

If the Groups wouldn't save then you didn't apply the DB changes

and yes this is tested on a fresh install of 1.4.1

***WARNING*** I do not run 1.4.1 so this is only tested on a fresh install

Actually, I did run the mod file,  ::) it was something else that had become screwed up, due to the fact that my board is HEAVILY modded

I installed this mod(latest add 5 version) manually and all works well. It wasn't a fresh install so if you create any new membergroups from before- they will assume the first 2 names but it doesn't affect the board-

(Just may P off a member if one of those groups was named Banned or Suspended and now a guy with 1500 posts comes up with Suspended next to his name.)

But it works fine and I do have a MODDED board too. Just remember to reset the previous settings like the readme says. Also worth noting, I think there may be an error in the BOARD MOD php- it dupes Settings.php.php (Im pretty sure its Settings but one of them has .php 2x- I havent been able to post sionce the move and don't have access to it now) I didn't have a problem since I manually installed but like I said- I don't use BoardMod so not sure if it will affect or not!

Great MOD- Thanks!!!

This mod still being supported?

I installed this mod by hand into 1.5.2 and all appeared fine until I try to add membergroups access in the edit catagorys area.

My jr, full, snr and god member groups no longer show up in the pop up box when I want to add them.  The Admin, global moderator and 5 new membergroups do however.

Anyone point me in the right direction on this please?

Fixed with a litle tinkering in ManageCats.php
Now people have access to various boards depending on their post count ;)

Sorry mate,  Thought I`d cracked it but I havn't quite got it sorted yet.  Finally got the all the groups to show in the Edit Cats section.

If anyone knows where to find the code that enables and restricts membergroup access to boards please let me know :)

As soon as I have this done I will try to put a mod together, should be too big as its just a case of finding the code that restricts membergroups 2-7.
