How do I change my background color?  I feel dumb asking, but I can't figure it out.  ???

The background over the entire message board, not sure if there is more than one type of background, but it kinda looks that way

And for some reason, I can't start a new thread anywhere, I dunno why  :'(

Try if it helps if you disable output compression (admin menu, board settings).

HI, I have a webspace on lycos. I've downloaded Boardmod and the mod you posted. but following the instructions you told (selecting the index.php and having a copy of the board on HD) I get always this error message.

step 1: failed ERR 1  (search string could not be found)
Step 2: failed ERR 1  (search string could not be found)
step 3: failed ERR 1  (search string could not be found)

I cant get it working, when I try to intsall it, it says:
"Error
----- search string start -------
$dbcon = mysql_connect($db_server, $db_user, $db_passwd);
mysql_select($db_name);
----- search string end -------
in file ........... (shows file path)"
What is this problem, and how can I fix it?

I can't get boardmod to load the lycos_1_4_1 mod file. When I run boardmod I get an 'Ivalid Filename' error. I've tried copying the code and saving the file with the boardmod editor but I get the same invalid filename error.

I tried to modify the php files by using the 'find and replace' edit mode in dreamweaver, but dreamweaver couldn't find any matches for the 'searched for' code.

I have YaBBSE version 1.5.1RC1B44 and I have the same redirection problem with the lycos free site.

Help would be much appreciated.

I have YaBB SE 1.50 and I keep getting tons of errors about "Safe Mode"... How do I turn this off?

Error:

/oldiesmann/index.php?board=;action=profile;user=Oldiesmann

oldiesman,

don't think you can switch it off.....safe mode is set by the server operator (lycos in this case). Have you used a safe mode version of yabbse.......I also had problems with the 1.5.0 version but I've completely changed it to the latest beta release......I think the download page advises not to use 1.5.0.....use either 1.4.1 or 1.5.1.

I have sorted my problem. Still can't get boardmod to work. But the latest code in 1.5.1 has slight changes to the code outlined in mod 1.4.1. This is why dreamweaver couldn't find and replace the code. I just reduced the search criteria to pinpoint the start of the code to be replaced. There is only one instance to change in both index.php and subs.php. You also need to modify the replacement code in line with the latest version.

My forum is now working as it should.......for the moment, I haven't tried out all of it's functionality yet.

Well done and thanks to Candy_man for the original fix.

smiler  :)

Yeah, I figured that out. I fixed that. I now have 1.51 RC44 (or whatever it's called) installed (safe mode version). Now I have to get Boardmod and fix the redirection problem....
