I just got an idea for YSE 2:
Would be cool to specifyfile types,
which will be zipped after they have been uploaded by a user!

And someone wrote b4 something about the search engine, and I have to agree ... I can hardly find what I'm searching 4!

Another great wish would be to assign a user more than one member group AND also boards wich can be accessed by more than one member group!

What else?! hmm ...

A better IM system (ability to make folders, pop up for user search, buddy list, etc.)

And another thing:
The ability to send emails to specific member groups,
not only to all! (Admin)

Subcategories will be added, right? (Hope so! )

IF there will be a calendar,
then it should be possible to not only add the day,
also to enter the time!

And use sessions instead of cookies!

BTW: Would be cool to EASILY use the yabbse2_members table with other PHP code!
(I mean, that I can use the member details from the forum for my website to login etc.)

While it would be nice to have this built in to YSE2, you can add this to YSE1.4.1 with this mod:

A lot of it is already done and added.  
So say "NO" to 2010, and "Yes" to 2003.

YSE 1 is not even a year old atm
coding takes time, and this is a voluntary job, and i believe the devs do have a 'real life' too occasionally...

Dude YaBB SE is not a year old yet. We released at least 5 diffrente versions. 3 of them which I help out personally on. We are working on another 1.4.2 security/bug fix release.  Possbile an 1.5.0 xhtml compliant release, and coding for YaBB SE 2 is coming along nicely.

This is all being done from volunteer work, and we are working hard on this stuff. So please give us some more respect.

Actually, our one-year anniversary should be coming up in a few days I think.

It is human nature to be greedy, that's what happened here when the DEV team gave such a great board, flexible and filled with features, and best of all FREE.
So we are all anxious and looking forward for the next release of an excellent production, which we know, will only make it even better.
But I am sure all this wait will be worth it because we know, at the end, there will be a pot of gold.
