I also need a converter from PhpBB 2 to YaBBSE last version, but with a merging of members and messages, without delete them on the both.

If there is anybody who arrives to do it...

I don't think it is possible to convert phpBB to YaBB, because, I believe, the coding for the passwords is different...

if it is not; than please tell me what I have been doing wrong...

Yes, there is a difference in password translation (YaBB uses only MD5 while PhpBB uses also a "password message", if I remember), but Jeff Lewis seems to be solved the problem:

I don't know if pnpBB 1.4 has a different password conversion from phpBB 2.

Another solution, less good, could be to create a new random password and to email it to the users. If the user has not a valid email or not receive the message... well, the conversion program should insert the user as a normal case (with the new password). The important thing is to recreate the messages and the user associated, I think.

Another interesting thing could be the merge of two YaBB SE boards. So you could work for the conversion in a new YaBB board, without problem for errors or rebuild. Only when the converted forum seems to be good, you could do the merge with an existing YaBB board.

Perhaps is complicated, but I think YaBB is the best but the last, and many of us have already different boards running.

yes thats i what. on the website i found only the phpsite not the php-file to change it for my request (php --> yabbse). i would be grate if you send me only the file, because i  would change any details (php ---> yabb to yapp --> php, and any other things like incl. mod integration).

I know the problem with the "password" translation, but there is no problem for me (send member new password  )

It would be happy, if you send me the php-file on [email protected]...

Groundup and I are going to write a phpbb2 converter once Boardnation is up and running.  So maybe a few weeks before the converter would be done.  Just don't bug us about it, not that you are right now.
