Hi Friends,

First off, I want to say Yabb rules, and my congratulations to the team for such a wonderful product. I've been using it for a month now and am very satisfied.

I do have one question though pertaining to fonts.

Whenever users make posts to the board, and they try to type in cyrillic, greek, or other misc. characters, they get displayed in the message as follows:

&#8217 &#8217

We all have greek and cyrillic fonts and encoding installed. Does YaBB support displaying of these fonts? If not, any suggestions as to how I'd go about implementing this?

Thanks for all your time and help.

Chrysostomos

There are some problems with displaying other character sets.  Some seem to work and others do not.  Don't have a solution, sorry.

There is a solution, you have to change the charset in your template...I just don't have the change handy.

I too have the same problem. I have people writting messages in Greek and yabbse translates them to a series of characters.

Example &#8217 &#8224 &#8219

Then this eats up the number of characters allowed in the names field and I get other problems.

Pleaseeee can some one help? what code do I pleace in the template? will the effect english post?

???  ???  ???

I will help you Greek people. Just find search for "ISO" in your forum template. Tell me the number it says. If it ends in -1, then correct it to -7.

I used the character UTF-8 which works for all languages and so far it works on my site. See I have a mix bag of entries. English, Greek (possibly diffrent greek languages) German etc.. and I'm hoping that the UTF-8 will handle this.
