It's really not too hard to merge a Boardmod template into the newer YaBB SE template. Almost 99% of a template design is in between the <style>.... </style> tags, with minor adjustments in the <body> section.
I started with the Black and Grey 3D template over there, and then modified it a bit to this:

Basically, make a good copy of your template.php file before starting, then try one!
