cookie problem? don't think so...

ok, my YaBB is located http://members.lycos.nl/scavwon/yabbse/index.php

The thing is:

I log in

I go to my admin section.

it says that I'm not allowed to enter that section

I click 'home'.

I look at the top: it says that I'm a guest, in other words, I'm not logged in.

I look at the bottom, and I see my admin name logged in.

can someone PLEASE help me with this?

I've registered as another username also, now. And I've tried logging in, and posting with both. they log in, but as soon as you do something with it, i.e. try to post, it logs you out... but you're still logged in at the bottom.

Do I need to use a bug fix? I hope not, but if so, please tell me..

YaBB is simple, takes me like two minutes to do it.  Try it on a real host that doesn't have PHP in safe mode...

Hmm... I hadn't installed anything like this before on a unix server and I think YaBB SE was very easy to install even though my host is in safe mode. Upgrading to 1.1.0 and 1.3.0 was very easy too. Although the install instructions to 1.1.0 did make me think twice before doing it but after starting it wasn't that hard.

Well I have installed SE on easily close to 50 forums, Alex has probably done more, Joseph has probably got several as well.

MOST hosts DO NOT have issues.  The free hosts suck, as plain as that.

My hosts php is in safe mode and my users have no login bugs (Many others, but no login ones :P) , The only time my users have login bugs is when they go through www.ud.2ya.com/board a redirection to the forum, because its through a frame.  if they go to the actual URL its fine. Are you going through a frame? (is that the REAL url?) I dont think the whole login-logout thing is a safe mode problem.

I never said it was...I was saying to try installing on a non safe mode.  The whole thing is pretty much dummy proof.

Just wanted to make something sure. If I change the name of the cookies now after the board has been running for a while does it mess up anything? Users just have to login again and the new cookies will start working then?

You should be able to change the cookie names with no problems, but I suggest you let your members know that they will have to relogin afterwards.
BTW you will be kicked from you forum after you save the changes and will have to log in again as well
