Y does SE save deleted im's?  How long does it save them for?

It doesn't save deleted IM's.  WHat it does is save space.


It only saves one copy of the IM - as opposed to a copy in your outbox and a coopy in the recipient's inbox.

So when you delete it - if the other person HASN'T deleted it - it's flagged as deleted for you but not them.  It isn't untill both parties delete the message that it's removed from the database.

so YSE is saving a lot of space as compared to the traditional IM that stores 2 copies.
