Step 4 just hangs and does not create anything

I am trying to install and when I get to step 4 my internet explorer just hangs forever. I checked MySQL database I created and it had 0 tables in it.

Any ideas as to what is going on?

Looks like the installer is not able to connect to your db. Double check:
- database name
- database hostname
- database user
- database password

If I let it try to create the database I get this.

Cannot use database yabbse, connection to server succeeded by the way.

I create the database myself and it just hangs when it tries to create the tables.

I was able to successfully install phpBB with thier installer, so I am not sure why this is bombing.

are you hosting yourself? because most places that give you databases wont let you call it yabbse (unless its paid hosting then they might) this could be the problem, try using your ftp username in the 'name' field.

The database is named wewfhfc_yabbse

It is a paid host, hostforweb.com

I have a similar problem i get to install.php?step=3

and enter all my detasils ( which i know are correct) and click proceed abd after about 15 mins, the  install.php?step=4 url apear in the address bar with a 404 message?

Any chance they put wewfhfc_ in front of the user name too? That's what got me when I first tried to install yabbse (needed me_yabbse and me_username).
