YaBB SE Installer

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_connect() in /home/sites/site3/web/install.php on line 175

I get this when running the install.php after entering the database info, I have Mysql installed as well as PHP, I also created the database manually through PHPMyadmin and uploading the Yabb.SQL script to create the tables and such.  I also after creating the tables went to the settings.php and entered my settings manually thinking maybe i could go around the installer however after doing that if i then run index.php i get the same error code as above but this time on line 41.

I was installing this clean to test before doing a conversion of my existing yabb.  So this directory is empty.

Any help would be appreciated

MySQL is installed and setup as i stated previously, the database yabbse  is also setup which i did through phpMyAdmin and uploading the Yabb.sql script.  PHP 4.0.6 is installed and running. PHP and MySql were installed as  PAK <automated installer packs for the Cobalt RAQ4i > I have tested that MySql is up and running following steps laid out at  mysql.com and running mysqladmin as well as phpmyadmin.

Strange.  :-\  Quick Question: Is your PHP in safemode?

Sounds like your PHP isn't compiled with mySQL support.  Have a phpinfo() we can take a peek at?  mysql_connect is a very standard function when compiled to support mySQL.
