Problem Description:

I am considering moving from YaBB to YaBB SE/SMF...

Can you please tell me what features are in YaBB SE?

P.S. Am I able to assign diffrent levels of access to boards? I.E. only members of certain member groups can access selected boards?

Yes.  There are also some mods that are already included in the board.

The main benefit of YaBB SE versus the perl version is that YaBB SE uses mysql instead of flat files.  This makes the whole thing run a lot faster.
