Please note that this converter has some limitations.
It does not convert:
- board permissions.
- banning.
- settings and configuration.
- groups properly; all moderators will become Global Moderators.
- polls.

I do not know what versions it works for.  Currently, it is known to work with phpBB 2.0.4.  Please tell me if it does not work for a specific version of phpBB.

Importantly, the YaBB SE database user MUST have access to both databases. (if they are on separate databases.)  This can easily be done with cpanel, just ensure that the user is added to both databases.
And note that you must install YaBB SE before using this converter.

More issues may come about.  Please remember that this is a beta.

Please note that this is provided under the YaBB SE license.  Further, by downloading this converter, you agree not to redistribute it without my prior and express consent.  (whether modified or not.)  If you do not agree to these terms, or cannot legally do so, you may not download the conveter.
This converter may not be distributed, shared, or in any way transmitted without the above stipulations.

Current Release:
http://www.yabbse.org/community/attachments/phpbb2yabbse_19.zip

Changelog:
- Version 1.9
   - minor typo sometimes caused errors.
- Version 1.8
   - fixed a bug in quote conversion.
- Version 1.7
   - now converts instant messages.
   - now converts notifications.
- Version 1.6
   - now correctly sets latest posts.
   - now uses YaBB SE database information for permissions.
- Version 1.5
   - changed methodology, should be unbeleivably faster.
   - now correctly converts most code.
   - now correctly converts statistics.
   - now correctly converts IP addresses.

Thank you,

Make sure the yabbse user has permissions on the phpBB tables... only read is needed.

It won't touch the phpBB forum.  If you don't trust me, you can chmod all your phpBB files to 755 or something and use a MySQL user that only has read access to the phpBB tables...

And, you're doing *just* what I'd recommend... also might want to backup your database.  (using phpMyAdmin.. or phpBB if it has that feature - not sure.)

If you are unable to download the converter, please try again later.  The server I have it on is not all to reliable, so it sometimes goes down.

But it's up most of the time.

Shibby, that's not really very possible.  The template systems of YaBB SE and phpBB are largely incompatible, although it is fairly simple a process (in most cases) to convert manually.....

New version, 1.8.  Fixed a minor mistake of mine...
