An Error Has Occurred!

2: Unknown(): open(/tmp\sess_dfad354f11003ba788b44eaec4ce1f0d, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2)
(Unknown ln 0)

What does this mean? What's the solution?

looks like some problem with the PHP setup: it tries to save the session temporary file in an invalid temorary directory.

That "(/tmp\sess_dfad.....)" path looks like some mixture of unix and windows file conventions (slash and backslash mixed, windows would require path settings like "c:\my\path" or "c:/my/path" - unix pathnames looke like "/my/path" )

Bug your host.  They set PHP up wrong.

Tell them to check session.save_path in php.ini.

Sheesh!  I guess I am the host admin!

The whole Kingdoms running on princess.icannia.com, "my daughters pc" because "it's faster than mine".

I have not yet figured out out to setup php.ini for sessions yet. I guess maybe thats why I have so much trouble finding a php portal or forum that works for us.

Since I like YabbSE and PfaBB so much, probably it is time to figure it out.

I am running Apache with perl and php, MySQL on WinXP.

This link might show it all:
http://princess.icannia.com/perl/printenv

So, How do you set up for sessions in the php.ini on winXP

Thanks

Some week ago someone posted in the forums here a nice tutorial about setting up PHP and MySQL on the own Microsoft PC. I cannot find the link right now, maybe you also search the forums and try to find it.

Okay, not to hard....

Open up the file C:\WINDOWS\php.ini in Notepad.

Search, find "session.save_path".

It will look like this:
session.save_path = /tmp

Change it to:
session.save_path = C:\WINDOWS\Temp
