I don't know why, but it seems that this mod had become all but forgotten, until someone responded to a post that had the screenshots in it a couple days ago. I didn't even know this mod existed, but I was determined to update it. Using the search, I found a post with a link to download the yabbpak version, and from there, I updated the code to work. So, here it is. Enjoy!

As far as I know, this works fine. I haven't had any problems with it on my Lycos board.

Excellent! I have really missed this mod...

One problem though (at least based on your preview - I haven't installed it myself yet): The Birthday page lists users by their username, instead of their displayed name which makes a lot more sense.

The original mod had the same problem, but it shouldn't be hard to fix - Right?

Right... I think you should just have to replace $user with $realname. The only other problem in this mod is that the Birthday List is, shall we say, "funky looking"...

I have discovered two more minor problems with the mod:

The dates listed on the Birthday page and on Board Index doesn't use each user's time format, which would make more sense.

The messages ("No users are celebrating..." etc.) are stored in the database, so that they will be identical for all users - Therefore, that part will always be in one set language regardless of what language pack each user has chosen in their profile. It would make more sense to store that in the language files, so it will change along with the language the user chooses.

Neither are specific to your mod and it was the same problems in the old mod for 1.1.0, but it's still a problem nonetheless.

I made a new version with some tweaks, real multi language use and it looks better...

Ok. I did some checking and it seems that RobDownSouth hasn't been on here in 2 months, so I am just going to go ahead and take over this mod. That means that the version that Daniel D. posted is now the "official" version...

I tried this on my test board and got a white page.

I then tried installing one at a time, the problem for me seems to lie in modsettings. Trouble is I don't get any error messages, just a white page $:-\$

Great! I installed it today, and it works fine.

One small problem though:

The date mentioned together with the Birthday text on BoardIndex does not seem to use the correct date format. I e the "There Are No Users Celebrating Birthdays On May 5, 2003" The "May 5, 2003" seems to be hard-coded, and does not change with either the date format or the correct name of the month in the current language.

The Xbirthday.php page uses the correct date format and month names though, so the problem is only on BoardIndex.

Can you please fix that?

Edit: It seems like it doesn't work correctly on Xbirthday.php either - It uses the correct name for months there, but not the correct format. It seems to be hardcoded for Month Day, Year (which for many countries make no sense).

You'll have to talk to Daniel D. about that... I don't know too much about how the date is done in YaBB SE, so I just left the date thing the way it was...
